Latest Version

Here you can always download the latest version of Moxie. See the Version History menu for version and change details.

Setup

The download package is a simple .zip file that should be extracted to a physical hard disk.

Installation of the service is optional; using the 'Run Server as App.bat' file you can start up the system without any prerequisites. If you do install the service, take note of the Service Name field on the Moxie Server dialog window: you can install and run as many copies of the server as need be providing they each have their own unique name and assigned a unique IP address.

Login to Admin

By default the system is configured to only run on the localhost; it will not be accessible from other computers. So to get started, open your web browser and in the address bar type in localhost to visit the home page.

From the home page, you can login with the default User of 'Admin' and the default Password of 'admin'. For this default account, both the username and password are case-sensitive. (Most accounts in most systems will not have case-sensitive logins because they will make use of a case-insensitive login handle.) Once logged in, click on the Admin top menu item.

If you have not already done so, be sure to read the Overview, Components, and Getting Started topics on this website in order to learn the basic how-to's.

Updating

When updating, be sure to check the Version History page for any upgrade requirements. Any such requirements aside, you can simply stop the service and replace the following binary files: Moxie.exe, Moxie.dll, Default.dll. Once replaced, restart the service. There is no need to uninstall the service when updating these binary files.

Requirements

Production: Windows Server 2008 or later

Development: (or very small deployments) Windows Vista or later, Windows 7 recommended

Extra Notes: Multi-Host servers running large databases should use a 64bit OS. The system is heavily multi-threaded; as such multiple processors and processor cores provide direct near-linier benefits.
